DNCB Outing No. 2023-23A to Tsawwassen Ferry Causeway & Reifel, June 6, 2023
Five birders met on the ferry causeway on a very windy morning. There were Eagles, Herons, gulls and Oystercatchers, but the other birds were sheltering somewhere else. We stopped at the heronry near the beginning of the causeway. Many herons were on nests, many more were flying in or out, and eagles were soaring above.

Fourteen birders met at Deas Island Regional park on a glorious spring morning – Terry, Grant, Bob, Dottie, Lidia, John, Lorna, Jacquie, Mike, Roger, Jim, Lee, Chris P and Lori. In the slough were Bufflehead, Mallards, Common Goldeneye and American Wigeon. A juvenile Bald Eagle looked down from a high perch and others flew overhead.
