The Vancouver Island marmot has a surprisingly long, complex, and at times tragic, history. Adam will chart what we know about the evolution of B.C.’s only unique mammal species, its decline to near extinction in modern times, and the ongoing efforts to recover its wild population.

Adam Taylor is the Executive Director of the Marmot Recovery Foundation. The Foundation’s mission is to deliver on-the-ground action to recover the wild population of the Vancouver Island Marmot. Prior to joining the Marmot Recovery Foundation in 2015, Adam was the Executive Director of Habitat Acquisition Trust, where he managed conservation programs including recover projects for Sharp-tailed Snake, Western Painted Turtles, Blue-grey Taildropper slugs, and others.
