DNCB Outing No. 2022-7B to Serpentine Fen, February 16, 2022
11 intrepid birders struck out for Serpentine Fen on a sky chunky with clouds, fringed pink with the rising sun. DNCB Outing No. 2022-05B to Tsawwassen Ferry Jetty & Reifel Bird Sanctuary, February 2, 2022
It was -3 degrees C with snow forecast, but a handful of the group assembled at 8am at the ferry jetty. The sky was overcast, the tide very high, and very few birds were on the water. The most interesting observation was the large group of Black Oystercatchers that had roosted on the gravel spit.

DNCB Outing No. 2022-05A to Tsawwassen Ferry Jetty & Reifel Bird Sanctuary, February 1, 2022
Seven DNCBers met on the Tsawwassen Ferry Causeway at 8am – David, Noreen, Chris, Jim, Joe, Pat, Terry. The tide was high, and there was a very cold wind. There were fewer birds than usual – Black Oystercatchers, Surf Scoters, Common Goldeneye, Mallards, American Wigeon, Bufflehead, Double-crested and Pelagic Cormorants, Brant and a Common Loon.
