Tsawwassen Causeway A cool and overcast yet rainless day is perfect for birding, and the proof was in the shorebirds we saw tucked away into the grassy mudflats next to Tsawwassen Causeway. Only six birders braved an early morning wake-up call to get here (Thea, Rosemary, Brian, Louis, Chris, and Margaretha) and we were rewarded

DNCB Outing No. 2022-21A to UBC Botanical Garden, May 25, 2022
It was rumors of Jaegers and Ospreys that lured 7 birders through peak morning traffic to the UBC look-out on Old Marine Drive. And while such rare treasures were never found, the sheer abundance of passerine species seen and heard more than compensated. The birders present were Margaret, Margaretha, Gabriele, Glen, Stephanie, yours truly, and

Eleven DNCBers met by the Second Beach swimming pool in Stanley Park – Richard, Kirsten, Debbi, Jacquie, Lee, Roger, Mike, Lorna, Pat, Manli, Terry. The new traffic pattern in Stanley Park made finding our parking lot a bit confusing. Although the seawall is partially closed for repairs, we were able to follow it part way.
