  Seven DNCBers met on the Tsawwassen Ferry Causeway at 8am – David, Noreen, Chris, Jim, Joe, Pat, Terry. The tide was high, and there was a very cold wind. There were fewer birds than usual – Black Oystercatchers, Surf Scoters, Common Goldeneye, Mallards, American Wigeon, Bufflehead, Double-crested and Pelagic Cormorants, Brant and a Common Loon.

  I arrived punctually at 8am, and Noreen and David were parked a few minutes later. After deciding we must be the only birders today, we set off along the trail around Brunswick Point. Golden-crowned Sparrows were hopping around the soil piles on the farmland edge, and the first of many Song Sparrows made itself visible.

  Twelve people met at Brunswick Point on Tuesday. It was clear but cold, and very windy with whitecaps on the river. The wind kept most birds hidden, but we did have some good sightings.
