| December Date: Tuesday 3rd, 2024, starting at 7:00 PM (In-Person only) Guest Speaker: Sofi Hindmarch Topic: 18 Years of Monitoring Barn Owls on the Southcoast (DNS Presentations on YouTube)  Sofi shares some of the insights she has gained into the life of Barn Owls, how they are doing in our region, and what you can do to help our local owl population. Sofi is an independent wildlife biologist currently working on various research projects for the government, municipalities and the Fraser Valley Conservancy. Her primary research focuses on understanding how habitat loss and rodenticide exposure are affecting our resident owl species such as Barn Owls and Western Screech-owls. She also works with farmers encouraging the use of Barn Owls and other raptors as natural rodent control.
