DNCB Outing No. 2021-27B to Cypress Provincial Park on July 7, 2021
Our group of 8 met at the High View lookout. It was cool and windy, and by the time I got there, early for a change, David and Noreen already had an impressive list of 8 or 9 species, including Band-tailed Pigeons, Warbling Vireo, Swainson’s and Hermit Thrush. We managed to increase the list to

It was another gorgeous day, a little hazy, but mostly not too hot. A group of five on Wed met at 8:30ish. We watched Purple Martins actively building nests on and in old pylons, some in cavities in the post sides, and others in cavities on the tops of the posts. We forget sometimes that

Only five of us showed up at 8am on a cool, slightly wet morning at Iona Regional Park: Pat, Angela, Janet, Glen, and me. We were rewarded soon enough, as our four-hour leisurely walk around the beach, ponds, and shrub-lined trails, turned out to be mostly sunny. 30 bird species were recorded, a relatively low

In accordance with Covid restrictions limiting outdoor groups to 10 people, a small group met at Colony Farm Regional Park in Port Coquitlam on Tuesday. In the parking lot were the first of many Cedar Waxwings that we saw along the way. We started at the usual Lazuli Bunting viewing area below the labyrinth, near

Here is a summary of some individual and small group outings since then (with Flickr photo links). Some people added photos to the group Flickr site. (Flickr) June 4, 2021
