Despite the wet forecast, 11 of the 15 registered Tuesday people met at the dyke at 11am.
The rain was light and the tide was still out quite far. Close to shore there were a few Black-bellied Plovers, Western Sandpipers, Killdeer, Dowitchers, Great Blue Herons, American Pipits, and gulls. A few of the plovers were still in breeding plumage.

A Merlin flew by, scaring some of the birds into flight. But they soon returned. On the tide line were groups of ducks and shorebirds. Other large groups flew past. In the bushes along the dyke were Yellow-rumped Warblers and other songbirds.

The rain became too heavy for cameras and spotting scopes, so we abandoned the outing at 11:45.
