Casual Birding Outing #106

At 7:30 AM, on the 18th of August a Lone Ranger was waiting to be joined by fellow casual birders. At 7:50 AM he was being rewarded, Lorna Clements, full of enthusiasm as ever, joined him.    Together the “pair” waited until 8:50 AM. Nobody else appeared and the two of us parted Petra’s and drove off to Reifel B.S. on Westham Island.

We drove Arthur Drive and turned West after Zalm’s Estate, at the end of this country road there is a large greenhouse and we were surprised to observe a helicopter flying  and spraying systematically the greenhouse-roofs, perhaps washing it, otherwise disinfecting? against what? After some more turns we arrived on River Rd, crossed over onto Westham Island and finally arrived at Reifel Migratory Bird Sanctuary. The weather was lovely: not too warm and not too cold, just perfect we enjoyed our excursion marvelously.

Casual Birding Outing #106
At 7:45 AM again, of the 25th of August a small group consisting of Lorna Clements, Terry and Hans-Ulf assembled and spent the morning at the Reifel Migratory Bird Sanctuary. Again this small group had marvelous weather and enjoyed together a highly relaxing ‘casual birding’ excursion. The highlights are captured by Terry and I have nothing to add, except “Terry, these are marvelous shots!”:
